I love pink. There is such a magic and an escapism to the color and recently I’ve learned that pink is actually healing to the nervous system too – it’s said to represent optimism which in this crazy world I think a lot of us need. I’ve been saving pink bedrooms on my secret Pinterest boards for eons now, dreaming of a time where I can paint not only my bedroom but my entire apartment pink. The problem is though that I keep on renting out rooms that I’m finding on Facebook marketplace which makes painting the bedroom that I live in pink practically impossible.
Because of my chronic health condition (and also because I thankfully am able to work from home) I spend a ton of time both resting and working in my room and so a few months ago I decided that I wasn’t going to wait anymore to fulfill my “Barbie dreams” of having a pink bedroom and I came up with this elegant and classy renter friendly hack for having pink walls without painting on them!
Here’s the secret solution that I proudly came up with. I bought silky pink backdrop curtains off of Amazon ( I found a specific brand that has a silky shine to it, I’ll post which ones I bought here). It was a trial run to find backdrop curtains that had the elegant silky touch to it that I was looking for.
Then I went to my local dollar tree and I found these wall hooks. I used thumbtacks (which only leave a small impression in a wall vs. a nail) and I hung them up and then I elegantly draped the pink cloth on top it it (I turned the backdrops upside down and cut holes so that way it would hang on the hook).
I’m an art lover and so I added pictures as always. For years I had been dreaming of being able to paint my bedroom pink and in only a few minutes I had a solution. Now every morning I wake up and the first thing that I see is pink – this simple change has brought so much beauty to my life and I would love to bring some beauty to yours too!
